Stephanie Tobon was born and raised in Los Angeles and eventually moved to the Bay Area, where she found her love for dance at In Motion Dance Center. Stephanie has trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, modern, and contemporary. During her time at her childhood studio, she competed throughout the Bay Area. After leaving, she moved on to perform and choreograph at Diablo Valley College under Kimberly Valmore, where she obtained her AA in Dance and Psychology before transforming to Mills College in 2018. During her time at Mills is where Stephanie began to explore technology and began creating screen dances. After obtaining her BA in Dance and Psychology in 2020, Steph started the accelerated master’s program to receive her MFA in Dance and graduated in May of 2021. During her master’s program, she choreographed and create screen dances while finding a passion for dance education for school-aged children. She has danced and performed in dance festivals around the Bay Area and with COterie DAnce Company and A Pulso Dance Project.
Stephanie continues to find performing opportunities while pursuing a career in dance education to help spread the love of dance to people of all ages.
