Dress Code

Class attire varies by genre.  Below are helpful guidelines:

Creative and Kinder Combos: Pretty much anything goes for our youngest dancers! :) They can wear any color tights and leotards,  cotton shorts and tank tops are also fine. If your dancer insists upon wearing their princess outfit...they can.  Every girl loves feeling like a princess in class.  Dancers will need both pink ballet shoes and black tap shoes for Creative Combo classes and just Black jazz shoes for the Kinder Combo.  (Males should purchase black ballet shoes in lieu of pink.)

Ballet:  All dancers in the Primary through Adult levels are required to wear a black leotard, pink tights and pink split sole ballet shoes.  Hair is required to be off the face and neck secured in a bun. (Males should wear fitted black pants and a fitted white or black tank top or t-shirt with black ballet shoes.)

Jazz, Musical Theater, Turns: Fitted clothing is best. Stay with cotton and lycra blends.  NO DENIM should be worn.  Shorts, yoga pants, jazz pants, leggings, tank tops, leotards, tights etc. are all suitable for class.  All dancers need to wear black split sole jazz shoes. Preferably slip-on with no laces.

Tumbling: Leotard with fitted shorts or a shortard.

Tap: Same attire as Jazz classes. Black tap shoes should be worn.  We prefer a leather-hard shank-oxford style black tap shoe by So Danca, Capezio or Bloch brands.

Hip Hop: Dancers should wear breathable fibers.  NO DENIM.  Clothing can be a looser fit than other dance genres. Shorts and t-shirts, leggings, sweat pants and tank tops are all suitable.  Dancers need a sneaker that is designated solely for dance.  These shoes should not be worn outside.  The hip hop shoes should be a non-gripping, basketball or skater shoes, preferable black in color and a mid to high top for added ankle support.  Brands that are currently popular with the kids are Converse, DC's and Osiris.

The studio offers both jazz and ballet shoes in all sizes as well as beginner tap shoes for all Creative Combo, Kinder Combo, and  Level 1/2 tappers.  How convenient!!
